Two Middle Eastern airlines have agreed in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) deals with Panasonic Avionics.
Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has agreed a contract for the company’s latest 4k and Bluetooth audio IFE innovations.
Panasonic Avionics’ ‘NEXT IFE’ will be installed on the airline’s 20 new Airbus A321neo and 15 Airbus A321neoXLR aircraft.
Saudia’s CEO Captain Ibrahim Koshy said: “We are delighted to be partnering again with Panasonic Avionics who have consistently delivered on their product commitments to provide reliable, engaging, tailored in-flight entertainment for our guests. Implementing their 4K and Bluetooth technology onboard our new fleets will ensure we deliver the best passenger experience in the skies.”
Meanwhile, Iraqi Airways has selected Panasonic Avionics’ ‘X Series’ IFE solutions for its new fleet of 21 narrowbody and 10 widebody aircraft.
The X Series offers full HD seatback mirrors, capacitive touch displays and handsets, and personalised interface. It also includes USB and laptop charging power points
The airline’s five A220, 16 B737MAX and 10 B787 aircraft types will be line-fitted with the IFE solutions and are expected to enter service in October 2022.
Iraqi Airway’s configuration and EIS program manager Farazdaq Al-Qazaz said: “Iraqi Airways celebrates its partnership with Panasonic Avionics on its new fleet, as it will provide passengers with entertainment services as well as add unique internet services, and it will be an enjoyable experience for passengers during their flights with Iraqi Airways.”
