Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has received approval from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) for its STC (ST02690LA) for the 12-pallet position 737-800SF freighter conversion.
AEI currently has FAA, CAAC, EASA and now TCCA approvals for its 737-800SF.
Last month AEI announced a contract to provide Chrono Aviation with a 737-800SF freighter conversion, which represents AEI’s first Canadian-based customer.
The AEI converted 737-800SF freighter offers a main deck payload of up to 52,700lbs (23,904kg) and incorporates eleven full height 88” x 125” container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH. The conversion also incorporates new floor beams aft of the wing box, and an 86” x 137” main cargo door with a single vent door system.
AEI also recently received ETOPS 180 approval from the FAA for its 737-800SF freighter conversion.
The ETOPS 180 approval allows the 737-800SF freighter to fly 180-minute extended operations over water and remote regions. AEI said this would open operational routes in areas such as Northern Africa and Western China and “service the growing needs of global air cargo”.
