Avianca Cargo expands fleet with addition of A330s

Avianca Cargo will add between two to four A330 P2F aircraft before the end of 2024 as part of its growth plans.

The additions will expand its capacity by up to 70 per cent between 2022 and 2024, particularly increasing capacity in the Colombian and Ecuadorian export markets, and in the import markets to South America from the US.

The airline is committed to strengthening direct connections between North America and Latin America.

“We are very pleased to announce the arrival of these aircraft to our cargo fleet,” said Avianca Cargo’s CEO Gabriel Oliva.

“With their incorporation we will not only offer greater capacity, but also an increasingly robust and flexible route network focused on the needs of our customers and facilitating trade between Latin America and the entire world. We reaffirm our commitment to continue supporting the economies of the region, serving as strategic ally for our customers and the industries.”

Airbus Latin America’s president Arturo Barreira: “We are proud that Avianca Cargo selected the A330-300P2F. This new generation freighter jet will provide Avianca Cargo with a highly efficient and flexible operation based on the proven and technologically advanced A330 family and it’s the perfect complement to their existing A330-200F fleet, benefiting Avianca Cargo from the advantages of family commonality.”
