DHL Aviation has appointed AVS GSA Services, the Malaysian subsidiary of ECS Group, as its national general sales and service agent (GSSA).

The appointment strengthens DHL Aviation’s commercial presence in Malaysia, connecting the country to key global destinations via dedicated freighter operations from Kuala Lumpur and Penang to Hong Kong and Singapore, with onward links to Thailand, India, Seoul, Japan, Bahrain, the Middle East, the US, and Europe.

Jean Ceccaldi, chief executive officer of ECS Group, said: “Congratulations to AVS GSA Services on winning the DHL Aviation tender at this pivotal point in DHL’s Asian strategy.

“DHL Aviation’s Malaysian business has experienced rapid growth over the past two years, driven by the country’s role as a fast-rising manufacturing and transshipment hub within DHL’s intra-Asia network. Malaysia was identified as one of DHL’s top 20 growth markets and multimillion investments have been made in fortifying Kuala Lumpur’s and Penang’s logistics infrastructure.

“AVS GSA’s proven commercial expertise will now enhance DHL Aviation’s service, ensuring optimum load factors on DHL Aviation’s flights and road feeder services out of Malaysia’s two main cargo hubs.”

DHL Aviation operates Airbus A320 and Boeing 767 freighters across the Asia-Pacific region. From Kuala Lumpur, the carrier serves Singapore and Hong Kong, while from Penang, flights operate to Hong Kong, supplemented by road feeder connections through Singapore.

This network enables seamless export connectivity to major global markets including US, China, Japan, Australia, Germany, UK, and the Middle East.

Malaysia’s leading export commodities include electrical and electronic components, semiconductors, sensors, printed circuit boards, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce goods.

“AVS GSA is proud to play a key role in shaping the continued success of DHL Aviation’s freighter operations,” said Yussof Amiroel, managing director of AVS GSA.

“Our team will combine local experience with leading digital commercial software to ensure outstanding sales results and top-quality customer service, particularly in view of the high-value export shipments out of Malaysia.”
