Starting October 27, Latin American airline LATAM Cargo will significantly expand its presence at Brussels Airport, tripling its weekly flights from four to 12.

This expansion positions Brussels Airport as LATAM Cargo’s primary European transport hub.

The flights will be serviced by a Boeing 767F, an aircraft known for its fuel efficiency and 60-tonne cargo capacity.

These flights will predominantly carry perishable goods, such as flowers from Ecuador to Europe. On the return journey, the aircraft will transport pharmaceuticals, time-sensitive cargo, and automotive parts to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.

LATAM Cargo also plans to enhance its use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), aligning with Brussels Airport’s commitment to promoting greener aviation practices.

Brussels Airport has established itself as a leading hub for pharmaceutical logistics, connecting local research and production facilities with hospitals and patients worldwide.

The airport specialises in handling temperature-sensitive goods, with Europe’s largest network of temperature-controlled warehouses and state-of-the-art refrigerated containers that ensure the integrity of cold chain logistics.
