Royal Air Maroc Cargo, the freight arm of Morocco’s national airline, has unveiled an ambitious roadmap aimed at transforming its operations through global growth, digital innovation, sustainability, and community engagement.
At the core of the airline’s strategy is a comprehensive fleet modernisation initiative, led by the integration of new-generation widebody aircraft. These advanced jets underscore the carrier’s commitment to operational efficiency, environmental stewardship, and enhanced cargo capabilities.
In 2025, Royal Air Maroc Cargo is intensifying its focus on expanding across Africa while tapping into emerging markets in Asia and the Americas. With a global network that spans 82 destinations – including major hubs in the US, Canada, Brazil, Europe, and the Middle East – the airline is strategically positioned to connect high-growth regions with speed and agility.
The carrier’s widebody PAX aircraft are key enablers of this vision, offering greater range, fuel efficiency, and expanded cargo capacity. Complemented by a fleet of 30 narrowbodies and a dedicated Boeing 767 freighter, the modernised fleet strengthens Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s ability to transport bulk and palletised goods with exceptional flexibility.
Casablanca continues to serve as a critical transit hub, offering a state-of-the-art cargo terminal with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes. The facility includes specialised infrastructure for handling temperature-sensitive and high-value shipments such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, and electronics.
Digital transformation is also front and centre in the airline’s growth strategy. Through strategic partnerships with platforms like cargo.one and Cargo.AI, customers enjoy 24/7 access to booking and scheduling, with future upgrades set to include real-time tracking and automated documentation.
Sustainability remains a cornerstone of operations. Royal Air Maroc Cargo operates a fuel-efficient fleet, participates in IATA’s Eco Hub programs, utilises solar photovoltaic systems at its facilities, and has introduced biodegradable wrapping materials to reduce environmental impact. The airline also plays a humanitarian role by partnering with organisations like AIRLINK to deliver critical medical supplies across the continent.
Yassine Berrada, vice president of cargo at Royal Air Maroc, said: “Our vision is to expand Royal Air Maroc Cargo’s global network, connect emerging and established markets, and strengthen Morocco’s position as a trade and logistics hub.
“With the introduction of the new generation widebodies, we are not only increasing our operational capacity but also reducing our environmental impact—helping us build a future that is innovative, responsible, and customer-focused.”
