China Airlines has joined the cargo.one digital booking platform following the launch of its own e-booking portal.
The agreement to use cargo.one gives the Taiwan-based carrier access to thousands of forwarders globally in every important air cargo market.
This includes forwarders in the US who will be able to secure capacity on key trade routes from the west coast into destinations across Asia more quickly and conveniently.
Eddy Liu, senior vice president of China Airlines, said: “China Airlines is taking measures to further digitalise sales processes and ensure that capacity is always within the easiest digital reach.
“With extensive experience and direct digital connections to many of our key global accounts, cargo.one is the logical partner to enable us to scale our sales reach worldwide, and deliver high quality online experiences reflective of our commitment to excellence.”
China Airlines offers belly capacity in a fleet of 67 passenger aircraft and 18 Boeing 747F and 777F freighters. The carrier connects Taiwan with 192 destinations in 29 countries. In 2024 China Airlines processed 60,000 AWBs per month.
Moritz Claussen, founder and co-chief executive of cargo.one, said: “We are proud to add our strength to China Airlines digital sales trajectory by bringing seamless digital quoting and booking to many of its large global clients, as well as our vast footprint of SMB forwarders.
“As one of the most requested airlines by our users, China Airlines available on cargo.one will offer many an ideal combination.”
In a first phase of the partnership, forwarders in the US and Canada, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and European markets will be able to use the platform to secure China Airlines capacity around the clock.
In the coming days, freight forwarders using cargo.one in US, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Netherlands, and Luxemburg can quote and book China Airlines capacity for general cargo shipments up to 10,000 kg to important destinations including Taipei, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta and Hanoi.
Additional markets and capacity products, including perishables and PTC, will become available on cargo.one in the coming months.
