ESC Group has appointed former Qatar Airways Cargo’s Ian Morgan as its new group commercial director for the US.

Morgan joined the global GSSA (Global Sales and Service Agent) on May 1 to drive growth in the US, a strategic market for ESC Group.

The firm said Morgan’s appointment aligns with its ongoing development and plan to create the new position of group commercial head for the US.

Adrien Thominet, executive chairman of ECS Group, said: “Our wish was to benefit from the support of someone who would not only have a solid cargo experience but who would also share the values of our group. Ian was the ideal candidate.”

Morgan has extensive airfreight expertise in the US market from his time working as a manager for some of the biggest companies in the sector.

ECS Group said he joins “with a substantial network and a great ability to meet the requirements of the GSSA’s customers, thanks to his strong airline background”.

His role covers a wide range of commercial responsibilities from the group’s commercial performance to managing relations US-based customers with high growth potential. The position will also involve contributing to business development.
