BBN Cargo Airlines Holdings has established a new cargo airline, citing growing demand for air cargo transportation services.

The airline, BBN Airlines Indonesia, set up its operations in Jakarta, Indonesia on 31 August, 2022. It will be based at Soekarno Hatta International Airport.

BBN Cargo Airlines Holdings already operates Icelandic cargo carrier Bluebird Nordic, with the new airline conducting services under a separate air operator’s certificate.

That certificate is expected to be obtained in the second quarter of next year, with BBN Airlines Indonesia aiming to secure its carrier licence by the end of this year.

The aircraft fleet to be operated by BBN Airlines Indonesia is currently unknown, however Bluebird Nordic operates Boeing 737 freighters.
