Menzies Aviation awarded contract with Air France-KLM in Canada

Menzies Aviation announces a new contract with Air France-KLM at Toronto Pearson Airport

Global aviation logistics specialist Menzies Aviation has announced a new contract with Air France-KLM at Toronto Pearson Airport. The contract at Toronto Pearson Airport, Canada’s largest and busiest air hub, will run for three years, starting on 1 September with Menzies set to provide ground-handling operations and cabin cleaning services, representing approximately 900+ flights per year.

With this agreement, Menzies is expanding its operations with Air France-KLM, a long-standing customer for several years. The addition of Air France-KLM to Menzies’ operation in Toronto defines a new growth stage for the Canadian station and “repositions Menzies as a leading option for all ground-handling services for all domestic and international customers”, according to the company.

Air France-KLM is the first long-haul transatlantic operation contract with a European carrier at Toronto Pearson Airport. “We are delighted to be starting a new adventure with Menzies Aviation at Toronto Pearson Airport and the future opportunities this opens up across the Americas region”, said Air France-KLM contracts manager Christophe Deloux.

Executive VP for the Americas at Menzies Aviation, John Redmond added: “It is great to see us broadening and strengthening our existing relationship with Air France-KLM. This award is a testament to the success of our partnership so far and the hard work delivered by Menzies Aviation employees on the ground”.

Earlier this year, Menzies was one of the first companies to register to start using PayCargo’s new dedicated Canadian Dollar online freight payment platform. The firm is a leading global provider of passenger, ramp and cargo services,  operating at 219 airports in 34 countries, supported by a team of some 32,000 highly trained people. Each year Menzies Aviation handles 1.2 million aircraft turns, 1.5 million tonnes of cargo and fuels 3.6 million turnarounds.

The company is owned by John Menzies PLC, one of Scotland’s largest firms where success depends on providing an efficient, high quality, time-critical service to its customers and partners. The company was established in 1833 and its head office is in Edinburgh.
