TAP Air Portugal signs up to e-booking platform

TAP Air Portugal is the latest airline to join the list of carriers utilising digital booking capabilities for its fast-growing cargo capacities.

The airline entered a global partnership with air cargo e-booking platform

The agreement will support TAP’s cargo business by introducing new digital capabilities such as online distribution and dynamic pricing. The partnership will also reinforce operational efficiency and day-to-day service quality of the airline.

Global chief cargo officer at TAP Miguel de Paiva Gomes said the airline’s cargo business had grown by +17 per cent over 12 months and joining was the next big step to continue the growth path. Over the past year, TAP has added 30 new aircraft and grown the network to +90 online and +250 offline destinations.

For, the partnership is another major win to solidify its position as the go-to platform for freight forwarders to digitally book air cargo capacities. The ever-growing customer base of the e-booking platform will gain additional access on routes to Latin and North America, as well as Africa.

The integration work to connect TAP’s core cargo system to is in progress with launch anticipated for Q2 2020.
