APTI Group strikes SAF deal with Neste
Travel management company ATPI Group has struck a deal with SAF provider Neste.
The partnership will expand the Group’s carbon measurement, reduction and compensation proposition, ATPI Halo, by allowing clients to invest in SAF. Under the scheme, clients are able to purchase in-sector travel emission reductions and obtain a single certificate for their investment, rather than managing this administration across multiple carriers and sources.
Neste is an oil company based in Finland. It is that county’s third largest corporation and it provides SAF to airlines and airports around the globe, with a plan to increase production to 1.5m tonnes of the fuel by the end of 2023.

Pippa Ganderton, Product Director of ATPI Halo, said: “As global air passenger numbers are expected to double by 2040, the aviation industry faces a critical challenge in reducing emissions dramatically. Despite research into various alternative propulsion technologies, the aviation industry still relies heavily on liquid jet fuel, predominantly sourced from fossil fuels.
“SAF, on the other hand, presents a more sustainable alternative, with the potential to slash greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle compared to conventional fossil jet fuels, as well as contributing to around 65% of the emission reductions required to achieve net-zero. This is a huge step in the right direction, and our partnership with Neste marks a significant milestone in the journey towards sustainable aviation for the business travel industry.”
