GECAS, the commercial aircraft financing and leasing business of GE, delivered an A320neo aircraft to Colorful Guizhou Airlines in Tianjin, China on 29 July, making it the second LEAP1A- powered A320neo aircraft to be delivered to the carrier by the lessor.
The first A320neo was delivered to the airline in October 2019.
GECAS and Colorful Guizhou Airlines announced their agreement in June 2019 to lease four A320neo aircraft, with deliveries continuing into 2020. Colorful Guizhou Airlines now operates a fleet of 11 aircraft, including GECAS’ two A320neos and nine Embraer E190s.
“We are excited to have taken delivery of our second A320neo leased from GECAS,” CEO of Colorful Guizhou Airlines, Fanyu Liu commented. “The arrival of this aircraft coincides with the summer season. It adds capacity which allows us to expand our operation from regional routes into trunk routes, better serving our local passengers, and better serving the growing tourism in the Guizhou province.”
GECAS’ EVP & regional manager in Greater China, Li Liu commented on the delivery: “We are delighted to deliver our second A320neo to Colorful Guizhou.”
“This aircraft will help add capacity as Colorful Guizhou looks to a strong recovery from COVID-19. GECAS is committed to supporting and continuing to work with Colorful Guizhou for the recovery of the Chinese aviation industry from the global pandemic.”
