Direct Maintenance recommences line maintenance activities in Africa as part of expansion drive

Direct Maintenance has reopened its line maintenance station at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania as a result of a maintenance service agreement with Swiss airline Edelweiss.

The reopening marks the restart of Magnetic Group company Direct Maintenance’s line maintenance activities in Africa.

Line maintenance services will be provided for Edelweiss’ A340 fleet at Kilimanjaro as well as Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar. Daily, weekly and transit checks will be conducted.

“When thinking about expansion, we are focusing not only on Europe, but also in Africa – and the latest agreement with Edelweiss which led to the establishment of a permanent line maintenance station in Kilimanjaro is a good example of our continuous efforts to scale up in the region,” said Direct Maintenance’s head of sales Mandeep Rana.

“I am very pleased that Edelweiss has decided to trust their fleet to our skilled professionals not only in Tanzania, but also in Zanzibar – and we are looking forward to a long-term relationship.”
