South Korean carrier Asiana Airlines has extended a contract with Lufthansa Technik for the repair and overhaul of the CF6-80 engines powering its Boeing 747 and 767 fleets.
The five-year non-exclusive contract covers a total of 17 767-300 and 747-400 aircraft.
“There were numerous good reasons to choose Lufthansa Technik as our preferred MRO partner again,” said Asiana Airlines’ general manager of aircraft and supplies purchasing Hoon Bae. “With the seamless support and services that have been delivered, we are very confident that Lufthansa Technik will always do their very best to keep us flying.”
Lufthansa Technik’s corporate key account manager Kijung Shin commented: “We are very proud that Asiana Airlines has decided to extend our trustful cooperation. We look forward to further supporting them with our knowhow and engine service capabilities.”
Lufthansa Technik and Asiana Airlines have been working together for more than 25 years. Lufthansa Technik also provides component maintenance for the Asiana 777-200ER fleet, integrated total component support for the airline’s Airbus A320F and A350 fleets and CF6 engine support and heavy maintenance for the carrier’s Airbus A380 fleet.
