Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) has received the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) approval from the Federal Aviation Office of Germany.
This approval enables EFW to provide global airworthiness management and technical services for both passenger and freighter aircraft, catering to aircraft lessors, owners, and operators.
EFW’s airworthiness management services are underpinned by extensive technical expertise in aircraft systems, structures, and regulatory compliance, honed over decades of experience in converting passenger aircraft to freighters (P2F) for international clients.
With this CAMO approval, EFW assumes comprehensive responsibility for maintaining aircraft airworthiness, streamlining the review process for import, export, and re-registration of aircraft. This efficient, reliable, and cost-effective service enhances customer convenience and maximises operational uptime.
The CAMO approval also complements EFW’s existing capabilities in aircraft design, production, and maintenance. As the only freighter conversion provider globally to hold CAMO approval alongside three other major aviation certifications – Part 145, Design Organisation Approval, and Production Organisation Approval – EFW can offer integrated solutions across design, conversion, maintenance, supply chain management, and CAMO services.
Additionally, EFW has received Airworthiness Review privileges for Airbus widebody and single-aisle aircraft from the Federal Aviation Office of Germany. This allows EFW to conduct airworthiness reviews, issue Airworthiness Review Certificates, and support “permit to fly” issuance for maintenance check and repositioning flights. For P2F conversion customers, this ensures that aircraft can be returned to revenue service immediately after conversion, with all necessary airworthiness certifications in place.
EFW is a joint venture between ST Engineering and Airbus.
