Magnetic MRO celebrates “significant achievement” as it completes 777th C-check

Magnetic MRO completed its 777th C-check in Tallinn, Estonia, in December 2022.

The aircraft was an Austrian Airlines A320-214, which was also the 100th aircraft to undergo a C-check at Magnetic MRO for the airline.

Magnetic MRO first maintained an Austrian Airlines aircraft in 2005 – a Boeing 737-800. In 2015, Magnetic MRO expanded its services to include the maintenance of Austrian Airlines’ A320 family fleet.

“Although numerous structural issues were encountered during the OE-LBS check, the teamwork and positive attitude of both teams enabled the completion of the check within the scheduled timeframe, and the aircraft was ready for revenue service just prior to the start of the new year,” Magnetic MRO stated.

Sergei Shkolnik, base maintenance director at Magnetic MRO, said: “The 777th C-check is a significant achievement for Magnetic MRO, and it’s an honour to have Austrian Airlines as the lucky number 777. The collaboration between our companies has been incredibly fruitful, and we anticipate continued achievements in the future.”

Thomas Schmid, a technical representative at Austrian Airlines, commented: “The Magnetic team’s continuous good and friendly cooperation, professionalism and extensive experience make the bond so appealing. I am convinced that Magnetic will far exceed the 1,000th check, whether it will be an Austrian aircraft again remains to be seen, but the probability is definitely there.”
