SmartLynx Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have extended their partnership for maintenance and landing gear services.
The new multiple year deal was announced at MRO Europe in Amsterdam this week with the leading ACMI, cargo, and charter services provider.
The contracts include maintenance services for the Airbus A320 family and landing gear services for the Airbus A320, A321 and A330 fleets.
Lufthansa Technik will carry out more than 25 C-Checks for its A320 family aircraft from November within the MRO experts’ base maintenance network in Europe.
As of October, SmartLynx will be provided with comprehensive landing gear services, including overhauls for Airbus A320, A321 and A330 aircraft, exchange landing gears and potential loans depending on individual needs.
Since May 2023, Lufthansa Technik has provided SmartLynx with a Total Component Support (TCS) for its entire fleet, covering more than 60 Airbus A320, A330 and Boeing 737MAX aircraft.
Zygimantas Surintas, chief executive of SmartLynx Airlines, said: “The new agreements underline once again our focus on excellence and reliability for our customers.
“In order to further optimise our performance, Lufthansa Technik has proven its ability to be a reliable and innovative partner for us to support our goal of becoming the world’s leading and trusted ACMI airline.”
Kai-Stefan Roepke, senior vice president corporate sales EMEA at Lufthansa Technik, added: “The renewed confidence in our capabilities and the expansion of our partnership with SmartLynx fills us with pride and demonstrates that we are the leading provider of individual, excellent service and support for the highest performance for our customers.
“We look forward to continuing to serve our Latvian partner on its growth path in the next years.”
