Ontic opens new $10m MRO hub in Miramar, Florida
Global aerospace OEM Ontic has opened its first dedicated MRO Centre of Excellence in Miramar, Florida, marking a significant expansion of the company’s global support infrastructure.
The $10 million, 64,000 sq ft facility becomes Ontic’s eighth site worldwide and is designed to enhance the repair and overhaul of Ontic-manufactured parts and systems for customers across the Americas.
The site consolidates Ontic’s US-based MRO teams, equipment, and processes into a single, purpose-built hub. By centralising repair expertise, the company aims to improve turnaround times and deliver more consistent and transparent service levels across critical electro-mechanical, avionics, actuation, and hydraulic systems.
The Miramar facility has received FAA approval, enabling Ontic to provide certified repairs directly to operators and distributors. As licence holder for thousands of product lines, Ontic retains the proprietary data, tooling, and test equipment required to return components to OEM standards, backed by OEM warranties.
Equipped with an in-house paint room, vibration-testing capability, machine shop, and a portable dark room, the site provides end-to-end support for complex repair requirements.
A further 12,000 sq ft of expansion space has been incorporated to accommodate future product licences and additional capability growth.
Ontic is now recruiting approximately 150 high-skill roles across engineering, technical operations, supply chain, customer service, and logistics to support the facility’s ramp-up.
Jack Karapetyan, vice president of global MRO operations at Ontic, said: “The opening of our first-ever Ontic MRO Centre of Excellence marks an important first milestone in the creation of our new global MRO network, which will improve turnaround time and transparency, and transform how we support airlines and operators.
“This investment further positions us as an industry leader, both enhancing and expanding our existing operations while increasing future growth opportunities across our original equipment and MRO operations.”
He added: “Miramar brings together the people, skills and infrastructure required to support increasingly complex repair work. We’re building a team here that understands the importance of precision, speed and reliability for operators who depend on these components every day.”
The Miramar opening forms part of Ontic’s wider $30 million global investment in MRO capability, which also includes its new MRO hub in Tewkesbury, UK. Together, the two sites create a coordinated network designed to deliver consistent quality and dependable turnaround times across multiple regions.
