Lufthansa Technik has renewed an engine maintenance services partnership with Philippine Airlines (PAL).
The three-year contract is to cover the maintenance of eight CFM56-5B engines of PAL’s A320ceo fleet, effectively as of 2024.
The renewed contract is in addition to the existing agreements in Total Component Support (TCS) for PAL’s Boeing 777 fleet, as well as Base Maintenance Services (BMS) with Lufthansa Technik’s subsidiary in the Philippines.
William G. Tan, vice president of procurement and logistics at Philippine Airlines, said: “Lufthansa Technik is a very reliable partner who ensures that our aircraft engines remain in optimal condition.
“Thanks to their technical capabilities and innovative solutions, they can significantly extend the life of our engines.
“We decided to work with Lufthansa Technik again with the expectation that they will deliver excellent performance in the field of engine maintenance.”
Dennis Kohr, senior vice president corporate sales Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, said: “We are delighted and very grateful that Philippine Airlines has chosen us as their engine maintenance partner again.
“We take this as an opportunity to further strengthen our long lasting partnership and are committed to delivering outstanding results for Philippine Airlines.”
PAL was the first commercial airline in Asia and celebrated its 82nd anniversary in March 2023.
PAL’s fleet of Boeing 777, Airbus A350/A330/A320/A321, and De Havilland DHC-8-400 next generation aircraft operate out of hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao to 33 destinations in the Philippines and 39 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.
