Rachael Caston appointed CEO of AJW Aviation

AJW Group has appointed Rachael Caston as chief executive officer of AJW Aviation, effective 1 September 2022.

She will be tasked with guiding the organisation “in its mission to transform aviation efficiency, focusing on continued strategic, operational and financial strength in delivering an exceptional customer experience”.

Caston joins AJW from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), where she provided executive level leadership for the UK Airprox Board at Royal Air Force (RAF) Northolt. Her career in aviation has included active service as a professional pilot, executive officer, and commanding officer in the RAF.

Caston will take responsibility for the operational teams at AJW and drive the group strategy in conjunction with the board and senior leadership team. The board will continue to lead the business, with Caston’s appointment enabling the board to “focus deeply on strategic initiatives for growth and diversification”, the company said.

“I am honoured to have been appointed as the CEO of AJW Aviation. It is a privilege to be joining an organisation that delivers such innovative, high-quality solutions to a customer base that spans the world,” said Caston.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of serving the group and leading an energised, engaged and determined team, enabling them to fulfil strategic goals through our combined passion for the aviation industry. AJW is a pioneer in the aviation supply chain and I am proud to be a part of its continued success worldwide.”

AJW Group’s chairman Christopher Whiteside commented: “We congratulate Rachael Caston on her selection as CEO of AJW Aviation in its 90th year of transforming aviation efficiency. We are fortunate to have someone of Rachael’s calibre and experience join the group. With her proven leadership abilities and management experience, I am confident Rachael will continue to drive the company forward.”
