StandardAero expands military portfolio with Aero Turbine acquisition

Provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services StandardAero has acquired Aero Turbine, a provider of MRO services and consultative repair solutions for military engines and accessories from Gallant Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm.

Founded in 1978, Aero Turbine employs almost 200 technicians at its 60,000 sq ft facility at Stockton Metropolitan Airport in northern California where it has an outdoor engine test cell.

Aero Turbine represents StandardAero’s 13th acquisition since 2015. Its customers include the US Air Force, the US Navy, foreign militaries, Magellan Aerospace and ATAC, a Textron company.

Aero Turbine is an FAA Repair Station that services J85, J69 and J79 engines and accessories that power T-2, T-37, T-38, F-5, A-37, F-4 and BAE Hawk aircraft worldwide. The company also supports multiple legacy and specialty engines and is the source of innovative repair solutions for both domestic and international military aircraft fleets.

The company carries a robust J85 inventory to support military and commercial contracts and its employees are qualified with specialised training capabilities for all J85 accessories and engine component repairs.
