Icelandic start-up low-cost carrier Play has selected OEMServices to provide component support for its fleet of three A321 neos.
The carrier’s inaugural flight was in June with a Reykjavik-London Stansted service, with routes to six other European destinations following.
Play is aiming to grow its fleet to six A320 neo family aircraft in order to begin services to the US. The carrier’s plan is to operate more than 15 aircraft by 2025.
OEMServices’ Original Integrated Services will support Play with inventory availability 24/7, component repair support by flight hour, engineering services and associated logistics.
“It is not every day that a new airline is born, driven by the energy and professionalism of a passionate team,” said OEMServices’ president Didier Granger. “We are proud to have been chosen in such important circumstances. OEMServices’ team is motivated to ensure the complete satisfaction of our services and bring Play all the added value of our original approach.”
Play’s CEO Birgir Jónsson commented: “We are deeply honoured and excited for our upcoming collaboration with OEMServices. Being leading industry experts, the company will without a doubt be a key element in our operations and provide the best quality and technical standards.”
