Safran and Lufthansa Technik partner for A380 landing gears
Lufthansa Technik has signed a long-term contract with Safran Landing System for Airbus A380 landing gear services. The partnership agreement will see the two companies optimise on solutions that cover all aspects of the A380s landing gear.
The work will be split between Safran’s Singapore and Lufthansa Technik’s London MRO facilities. The extensive asset and MRO partnership will provide airlines with a single point of contact throughout the whole commercial and industrial chain, providing a comprehensive A380 landing gear support.
In a joint statement, the two companies said airlines will be able to send their complete set of landing gears to either partner’s facility avoiding complex processes.
Safran Landing Systems executive vice president, MRO Division, Bruno Chiarelli said:
“We are proud to team up with Lufthansa Technik to offer our customers the best solutions in terms of competitiveness and logistics. They will benefit from the combined expertise of an OEM and MRO and a nose to tail MRO service provider, both world-class in their field.”
Also, vice president of aircraft systems at Lufthansa Technik Sandra Eckstein added the far-reaching partnership with Safran Landing Systems would enable the offering of a complete MRO landing gear service portfolio for the A380. “Our customers will benefit from their combined expertise, with Lufthansa Technik also contributing our comprehensive A380 main landing gear support capabilities.”
