StandardAero’s Brisbane engine MRO facility celebrates tenth anniversary

StandardAero is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its engine MRO facility in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia this month.

The facility opened in March 2013, and is a Pratt & Whitney Canada-authorised PT6A designated overhaul facility (DOF) with distribution rights on certain engine models.

The 22,000sq ft facility also provides field service support for a number of other P&WC engines, including the JT15D, PT6T, PW100 and PW300.

The Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS), which provides life-saving services throughout Australia with a fleet of 79 aircraft, including the PT6A-powered Pilatus PC-12 and Beechcraft King Air, accounts for approximately 35 per cent of the Brisbane shop’s activity. The facility recently marked completion of its 1,000th work order for the RFDS.

“It is truly gratifying to reflect on the achievements of the Brisbane facility team over the past decade,” said Stephen Leigh, vice president and general manager of StandardAero’s Brisbane facility.  “Our employees embody StandardAero’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations and we are proud to support a broad mix of operators from across Australia and beyond, not least the Royal Flying Doctors Service. We look forward to continuing to serve the needs of our customers and to celebrating our next ten years.”
