Storm Aviation acquires SR Technics’ UK line station network

FL Technics subsidiary Storm Aviation has acquired SR Technics’ UK-based line station network.

The network provides fully supported aircraft turn around services, including planned and casualty maintenance, transit, pre-departure and overnight defect rectification as well as other checks for many types of commercial aircraft.

Five line stations will be transferred to Storm Aviation ownership – at London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester and Birmingham airports – as well as a tooling, loan, repair and calibration centre at Stansted.

SR Technics Aircraft Services SVP Jakob Straub said the transfer of ownership was part of the company’s consolidation process in the UK.

Storm Aviation CEO Thomas Buckley commented: “We are thrilled to join teams with SR Technics UK’s valued aircraft maintenance professionals and welcome a number of esteemed customers to Storm Aviation. This transaction is an important step in strengthening Storm’s trusted network of line stations and to ensure that airlines landing at UK’s major airports continue to receive top-quality engineering support.”

FL Technics CEO Zilvinas Lapinskas said: “The agreement between Storm Aviation and SR Technics has potential to deliver significant synergies for the combined business. While global aviation continues to face significant headwinds, I am hopeful that by joining forces we will be better positioned to endure the ongoing disruption, and, most importantly, take advantage of the eventual recovery.”
