Stratos delivers widebodies to DHL affiliate and major Middle East carrier

Stratos delivers two widebodies; one to DHL affiliate, one to major Middle East carrier

Stratos, an aircraft investment specialist, has completed the delivery of two widebody aircraft – one to an affiliate of DHL, and the other to a major carrier in the Middle East.

The company says these latest completions mark another successful transaction that involves over 10 widebodies to various buyers and lessees within the past 12 months.

The first completion was the sale of A330-300 MSN1338 to an affiliate of DHL.

Stratos says that this aircraft had originally operated at Thai International and was acquired speculatively in 2022 without lease on behalf of one of their leading European investors.

The A330-300 MSN1338 has recently spent a period of time in maintenance works and has now been flown to Dresden, Germany where it will soon be converted to a freighter.

John McHugh, vice president of technical at Stratos, said: “We are delighted to have delivered this aircraft following extensive rework including engine repairs, landing gears as well as airframe clearance in a highly challenging environment from a supply-chain and MRO availability perspective”

The second aircraft was a 777-300ER MSN39232 which was delivered to a major carrier in the Middle East in a transition from Cathay Pacific.

This aircraft had operated since new at the Hong Kong flag carrier and was returned as part of a normal lease expiry before transitioning on lease.

Cian O’Shea, marketing director at Stratos, said: “This redelivery and transition of a large widebody aircraft to an existing client of Stratos in a market where airlines are highly sensitive to cabin spec and maintenance condition is a testament to our placement credentials.”
