APOC Aviation has opened an eco-friendly warehouse in the Netherlands – with the green technologies implemented there complementing its existing sustainability philosophies

The part-out of an aircraft is a green process “as it extends component lifecycles, thereby reducing the ecological footprint of parts,” says APOC Aviation’s vice president operations Arjan de Jong.

So when the aircraft, engines and landing gears trading, leasing and part-out company decided to open a new warehouse facility, it was important to de Jong to minimise its ecological footprint, in line with APOC’s sustainability philosophy.

“The implementation of green technology across the build complements APOC’s business model of extending the lifecycle of mature aircraft components,” de Jong explains.

The new warehouse in the Netherlands is based on the same campus as APOC’s existing facility between Amsterdam Schiphol and Rotterdam.

A further 2,500sq m of warehouse, technical support space and offices has been added.

APOC said the new premises benefit from green technology features and allows for future expansion as the company expects to double its stock hub capability and workforce over the next five years.

Electric temperature control and high-spec insulation are expected to reduce energy consumption. The building also has solar panels installed to leverage sustainable energy use.

“We foresee significant growth as the business develops trading activity worldwide, and this new facility not only complements our business ethos but also future-proofs APOC’s ambitious programme of narrowbody teardowns,” says de Jong.

“We have the scope to scale up operations and better support our customers with ever-faster deliveries underpinned by our close proximity to Schiphol airport.”

APOC said recent teardowns had boosted its inventory of modern narrowbody parts. Primarily housed in the Netherlands, these integrated components also support APOC’s global customer base from stock hubs in Miami and Singapore.

APOC holds a large stock of parts for the aviation industry in its temperature-controlled warehouse which are sold in both AR/SV conditions. APOC said its innovative proprietary software solution ensures the highest quality standards across all component transactions.
