O’Leary sends ‘Economics for Dummies’ to Italian aviation minister

Ryanair’s outspoken boss Michael O’Leary has written a sharp rebuke to Pierluigi Di Palma, President of ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority), following his claims that there is an ‘oligopoly’ in Italy or that ‘low cost airlines no longer exist’ and that low fares ‘will never be there again’.

Unsurprisingly, O’Leary has taken exception to the President’s claims, which he takes apart point-by-point in an open letter. He also encloses a gift in the hope that Di Palma will use to ‘quickly learn what an oligopoly is’.
