The first Aerq IFE products recently received EASA Form 1 certification. Being in the position to provide EASA Form 1–certified products is a milestone for the organisation.

Obtaining this certificate is a prerequisite for aviation suppliers as with it, they can declare their products as airworthy. The EASA Form 1 is the Authorised Release Certificate that declares the airworthiness of products, parts, and appliances. It states that a product, a part, or a component was manufactured in accordance with approved design data.

“Obtaining airworthiness and being able to use the advanced electronic signature strengthens our serious position in the aerospace market as innovation-drivers and opens doors for Aerq to take off”, stated Arnd Kikker, Co-Managing Director at Aerq.

The company is a joint venture between LG Electronics and Lufthansa Technik. It was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. With its roots in consumer electronics and aviation it uses the knowledge from both parent companies to develop digital products for aircraft cabins.
