Recaro Aircraft Seating and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have revealed their latest seats at  Aircraft Interiors Expo this morning. (Wednesday).

The airline is a longstanding customer of the seat supplier, and has selected new R3 Economy Class and R4 Premium Class seats for international routes. These will be used both for line-fit and aircraft refurbishment.

The R3 Economy Class seats  feature a number of options requested by the airline.  As the units are configured with a seat pitch of around 33 to 34 inches, the airline has chosen to allow them to recline further than regular economy seats.

Both the R3 and R4 seats are equipped with innovative features such as USB-C charging ports and, for the first time, Bluetooth connectivity. They are trimmed with a mixture of patterns to brighten up the cabin interior.

“ANA is committed to continually elevating the passenger experience and the new seats represent our ongoing investment in providing customers with greater comfort and convenience on our international flights,” says Tomoji Ishii, Executive Vice President, Customer Experience Management and Planning of ANA. “We will continue to seek out and implement innovative solutions to enhance every aspect of the passenger journey with ANA.”

“The new seats truly represent the strength and success of our ongoing partnership with ANA,” adds Irene Tan, General Manager of RECARO Asia Pacific. “We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.”

ANA will introduce the R3 and R4 seats on its next-generation Boeing 787-9 long-haul international aircraft, with deployment scheduled to begin in 2026.
