AJW Technique Interiors has struck a deal with it’s long-standing client Azerbaijan Airlines to supply its patented SkyLeather seats.
The airline has taken the decision to install the synthetic leather seats on three of its A319 and six of its A320 aircraft. The manmade material is designed to be easier to clean than conventional leather, and it offers a substantial weight saving, reducing the aircraft’s overall weight and increasing fuel economy.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Azerbaijan Airlines on this exciting endeavour,” said Christopher Whiteside, Chairman at AJW Group. “The installation of SkyLeather not only elevates the airline’s commitment to sustainability but also provides passengers with an exceptional level of comfort and aesthetics. This partnership represents a significant step forward in revolutionising the passenger experience while reducing the environmental impact of aviation.”
Samir Rzayev, First Vice President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC commented, “AZAL is actively working to improve the quality of its services, always committed to meet the needs of its passengers and at the same time minimize the negative impact on the environment. Our airline is focused on the use of environmentally friendly solutions, and this cooperation has become another important stage of work in this path.”
The company is also refurbishing the interiors of one B757 and two B767 aircraft using their own in-house cut, sew and engineering capability.
