First A321neo order delivery for Thai Airways
Thai Airways has taken delivery of an Airbus A321neo, marking the first of an order of 32 such aircraft as the airline modernises.
Registered as HS-TOA and bestowed with the royal name “Bowonrangsi,” the new plane is one of the first 10 aircraft which will enter service as part of an operating lease agreement with lessor AerCap.
At the naming ceremony held at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Mr. Chai Eamsiri, Chief Executive Officer, said, “The delivery of our first A321neo demonstrates Thai’s commitment to strengthening our fleet capabilities and network strategy to enhance service potential and support continued growth in the Asia-Pacific market. The A321neo is equipped with advanced, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly technologies. This new aircraft type will enable us to operate more efficiently on strategic routes across the Asia-Pacific region.”

The Airbus A321neo cabin accommodates a total of 175 seats, comprising 16 Business Class seats (Royal Silk Class) and 159 Economy Class seats. The Royal Silk Class cabin is designed to deliver a widebody-like comfort experience, featuring fully flat beds with 180-degree recline and increased seat pitch. The Economy Class seats are ergonomically designed, with a 110-degree recline and six-way adjustable headrests. The cabin interior showcases a distinctive blend of Thai identity and contemporary international design, expressed through elements such as seat design, curtains, and cabin wall panels. The travel experience is further enhanced with an in-flight entertainment system (IFE) at every seat, featuring 4K resolution touchscreens with Bluetooth headphone connectivity. The cabin also features Airspace XL Bins, offering up to 40% more storage capacity, as well as Welcome Ceiling and Cabin Mood Lighting systems to create a pleasant atmosphere throughout the journey.
The Airbus A321neo is planned to operate regional routes across the Asia-Pacific network, with its inaugural commercial flight scheduled for 22 January 2026, operating the Bangkok–Singapore–Bangkok route.
