Russia-owned Aeroflot plans to buy the remaining 49% of JSC Aeromar, Russia’s largest in-flight catering company, from Lufthansa Group, the airline’s CEO Sergei Aleksandrovsky told journalists at the Eastern Economic Forum 2025.
“We received the approval of the government commission to approve the deal to acquire 49% of Aeromar. After receiving approval for the deal, our share will be increased to 100%,” said Aleksandrovsky.
Lufthansa itself announced its intention to sell its stake in Aeromar back in September 2022.

Sheremetyevo-based Aeromar reported a loss of around $6.2m in 2024, compared with a profit of around $760k a year earlier. This was despite a rise in revenue of around 37%. According to a report by the Russian Interfax press agency, financial problems have arisen due to the growth in the cost of sales and increased management and commercial expenses exerted significant pressure on the company’s financial result.
