Recaro unveils new streamlined assembly line design

Recaro has unveiled a new streamlined design for its Final Assembly Line (FAL) at an inauguration event held on March 2 and attended by nearly 100 suppliers, VIPs and colleagues.

Nearly 11,000 sqm has been renovated, featuring 350m conveyor technology for the seats, 60% power savings through LED lighting, and an expanded canteen and coffee lounge. More than €4 million were invested in the project.

Part of the company’s global space2grow expansion strategy, planning for the new FAL design first kicked off in 2017. The implementation took 15 months of construction time and was completed in January 2023.

“Today was a celebration of many months of hard work and dedication from my colleagues who believe in the importance of customer-centric manufacturing,” said Dr Mark Hiller, Recaro shareholder. “Technology is a driving force in our industry and it’s important for Recaro to be a pioneer in lean production, so we can better serve our customers.”

Headquartered in Schwaebisch Hall, Germany, Recaro employs 2,100 people worldwide across its sites in China, Poland, South Africa and the United States, and earned €260 million in revenue in 2021.
