Airline group Star Alliance has announced the appointment of Simon Ralph as its Managing Director for the United Kingdom.

Based at London Heathrow and working closely with the HQ in Singapore, Ralph will lead Star Alliance’s engagement in the UK.  He will work with airport stakeholders for the Alliance’s interests at the hub.

“On behalf of Star Alliance, I welcome Simon to the team,” said Theo Panagiotoulias, Star Alliance Chief Executive Officer, “Simon’s aviation experience positions him well to manage the opportunities we have in the UK. Working with senior executives from our member airlines, he will be focused on delivering the best for our customers and carriers, as well as protecting our interests at London Heathrow.”

Ralph has more than 25 years’ experience in the aviation industry. He joins Star Alliance from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), where he served as Director External Relations. During his time at IATA, he held a range of member and external relations related roles in London, Montreal and Geneva.
