Thai Airways has given smart new cabin crew uniforms a recycled twist.
Demonstrated at a runway event in Thailand called ‘From Purple to Purpose’, the Thai ‘Ruean Ton’, based on the county’s national dress, will now be weaved with synthetic thread made of recycled materials and Thai silk. The new uniform offers both aesthetic and utility purposes as it is easier for looking after and flexier in wearing and has passed the safety standards.
The airline has long been known for having elegant uniforms for female cabin crew and it says that the new look combines ‘national identity and sustainable development’.
Uniforms with this new material will be worn by female flight attendants and to be witnessed onboard and elsewhere from 1 January 2024.
