Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), a multi-product MRO provider, has been chosen by CMA CGM AIR CARGO, the full freighter air company of CMA CGM Group, to provide engine and component support for their recently added Boeing 777 Freighters.
The two new aircraft, delivered in May and June 2022, will bolster CMA CGM AIR CARGO’s all-cargo fleet for international routes from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.
With its extensive experience in maintaining one of the world’s largest 777 fleets on behalf of Air France and KLM, AFI KLM E&M will offer comprehensive component support for both aircraft under a long-term flight-hour contract.
This includes repairs and access to their spare parts pool located at CDG, ensuring efficient operations for CMA CGM AIR CARGO.
Géry Mortreux, executive vice president at Air France Industries, said: “We’re highly honoured to have been selected by CMA CGM to provide Engine and Component, and will focus our efforts on ensuring its aircraft are maintained to the highest operational standards.
“Moreover, we’re proud that our MRO services will be contributing to the development of our partner’s air freight activities, as part of a wider and highly promising alliance between two European groups –both of which are market leaders in global transport and logistics.”
For engine services, AFI KLM E&M will be responsible for repairs and on-wing services in the event of issues encountered during stopovers, as well as aerostructure and APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) support.
The two 777 Freighters will benefit from advanced monitoring and analysis through AFI KLM E&M’s exclusive predictive maintenance solutions, namely PROGNOS® for Engine and PROGNOS® for APU.
Additionally, AFI KLM E&M have stated they will extend its services to provide component support for CMA CGM AIR CARGO’s existing fleet of four Airbus A330F aircraft, including access to its dedicated component pool.
