“As important as vaccines”: AirBridgeCargo transports life-saving diabetes treatments amid supply chain disruption
AirBridgeCargo Airlines has transported 25 tons of diabetes treatments for Bolloré Logistics – as Chinese airports experienced disruptions in ground handling operations.
Volga-Dnepr Group company AirBridgeCargo urgently organised a charter flight from Milan, Italy, to Shanghai, China, with a mix of Envirotainer and DoKaSch containers loaded on the main deck of a 747 freighter.
“Even though the world has been slowly coming back to normal life, supply chain disruptions are still taking place,” said Volga-Dnepr Group’s global healthcare director Yulia Celetaria.
“In times like this, we are always here to support our customers with timely and effective logistics solutions. Thanks to aligned relations with the leading container providers, a team of local experts, and the support of ground handling partners we were able to organise a dedicated charter with one of the life-saving medicines which is as important for us as vaccines and other healthcare products.”
AirBridgeCargo said it had transported more than 25,000 tons of healthcare products over the first six months of 2021.
