AIR ONE has expanded its long-haul freighter capability with the delivery of a second production Boeing 777 Freighter, further advancing the group’s fleet modernisation and long-term growth strategy.

The aircraft will be operated by British cargo carrier One Air, AIR ONE’s affiliated airline.

Fresh from Boeing’s Everett, Washington, production line, the 107-tonne-capacity widebody marks the second 777F to join AIR ONE’s managed fleet in just three months.

The aircraft will touch down at East Midlands Airport on November 19 ahead of entering immediate service on AIR ONE’s scheduled Hong Kong to EMA route.

The group launched its four-times-weekly Hong Kong to UK operation in early September.

AIR ONE has grown rapidly into one of the largest providers of all-cargo capacity between Asia and Europe, having completed more than 3,000 widebody freighter flights and transported over 300 million kilogrammes of cargo.

The latest addition strengthens overall reliability across its network and complements the group’s existing managed fleet of 11 Boeing 747Fs.

Peter Scholten, AIR ONE’s chief commercial officer, said: “The Boeing 777 Freighter is an outstanding cargo aircraft. Taking delivery of a second 777F strengthens our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality services on key Asia-Europe trade lanes.

“It also reflects our focus on operational reliability and long-term commitment to developing a modern, efficient fleet capable of meeting our customers’ growing air cargo requirements.”

Chris Hope, chief operating officer at One Air, added: “This delivery showcases the readiness and capability of our technical and flight operations teams to support our fleet and network expansion. The 777F continues to prove itself as a highly reliable and efficient aircraft, well suited to our customers’ evolving requirements.”
