More than 750 million Covid-19 vaccines have now been shipped through Brussels Airport since the first took place a year ago, on 27 November 2020.

The airport noted that its experience and specialised infrastructure allowed it to facilitate daily flights with Covid-19 vaccines to more than 60 destinations worldwide. Brussels Airport has more than 35,000sq m of temperature-controlled warehousing specifically for pharmaceutical products, making it the largest area in Europe, according to the airport.

The airport also offers specialised airside pharma transporters for transport on the tarmac, and the largest number of pharma-certified companies under the IATA CEIV programme, it said.
