Menzies Aviation has signed a renewed five-year contract with Cathay Cargo to continue to provide cargo and freighter ramp services for the carrier in the south-west Pacific region.
The contract renewal allows Menzies Aviation to manage 85,000 tonnes annually, further strengthening a partnership that began in Melbourne two decades ago and has since expanded to include Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Auckland over the past 10 years.
The new contract will enable teams to support Cathay’s cargo operations not only at all Australian locations served by the carrier but also in New Zealand.
Beau Paine, global head of cargo at Menzies Aviation, said: “Today’s announcement not only strengthens our ties with Cathay Cargo but reaffirms our status as a leading provider of air cargo services in Australia and New Zealand.
“We look forward to delivering first-class cargo and freighter ramp services with the Cathay team across these airports for years to come.”
Tom Owen, Cathay’s director of cargo, said: “In the past, we have worked successfully with Menzies Aviation for our cargo handling, and so we appreciate the close collaboration as we now move our relationship forward to the next stage.
“The extension to our partnership will see us working more closely together across the region in the strategic areas of digitalisation, operational safety management, sustainability and training. Our common goal is to enhance the service and satisfaction levels for Cathay Cargo customers.”
