China Cargo launches new Liege–Hefei freighter route
China Cargo Airlines has launched a new scheduled freighter service connecting Liège Airport (LGG) in Belgium with Hefei Xinqiao International Airport (HFE) in China.
The route, inaugurated on 23 May 2025, operates three times a week using a Boeing 777 Freighter (B777F).
The new service aims to boost capacity and reliability along the Europe–Asia air freight corridor, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to efficient and resilient global cargo operations.
It also marks another milestone in Liège Airport’s growth as a central logistics hub in Europe.
China Cargo Airlines, a subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines, is one of China’s leading dedicated cargo carriers. Headquartered in Shanghai, the airline operates 15 widebody freighters and serves key logistics centres across Asia, Europe, and North America.
The addition of Hefei to its European network provides direct access from one of China’s fast-developing industrial cities to the heart of Europe, supporting growing trade flows and supply chain demand.
With its strategic location and expanding infrastructure, Liège Airport continues to attract leading global cargo carriers, underlining its importance in international logistics.
