General Sales & Service Agent (GSSA), ECS Group, has been appointed by Vietnam Airlines as its cargo GSSA in the US, supporting the airline’s ambitions to grow cargo revenues and strengthen its presence on the key transpacific trade lane.

The agreement will see ECS Group manage Vietnam Airlines’ online cargo operations at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) while developing strategic interline solutions linking the US with major Asian gateways, particularly in South Korea, to provide customers with greater connectivity across the region.

As part of the partnership, ECS Group will be responsible for cargo sales, customer development, capacity optimisation, operational supervision and the promotion of both general cargo and specialised freight products throughout the US market.

Vietnam Airlines carries a broad mix of cargo, including electronics, semiconductors, automotive components, e-commerce shipments, perishables, pharmaceuticals and other high-value goods.

The GSSA said customers will also benefit from its digital ecosystem and data-driven capabilities, including technology from CargoTech companies designed to improve shipment visibility, operational efficiency and commercial performance.
