Hong Kong Air Cargo opens Greater Bay Area Office
Hong Kong Air Cargo (HKC) has opened its Greater Bay Area Office (GBA Office) in Shenzhen which will serve as a strategic hub for it to expand its business in the region and enhance its cooperation and communication with local authorities and partners.
HKC states that establishing the GBA Office is in line with its Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan which aims to promote the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as an international aviation hub.
HKC will leverage its advantages in air cargo services, and network coverage, to support the development of the GBA as a world-class city cluster and a leading global innovation centre.
HKC states it will also leverage the unique advantages of the ‘one country, two systems’ principle and the preferential policies for Hong Kong under the 14th Five-Year Plan to facilitate the flow of goods within the GBA and beyond.
The opening ceremony was held at the HKC GAB office and was attended by Zheng Deqiang, deputy director of the Dongguan City Bureau of Commerce; Wan Hui, chairman of Dongguan Port Group; Li Binxiong, general manager of Harvest International Freight; Li Xiaoqing, managing director of Great Link Logistics; Zhang Tao, air freight director of J&T International; Chang Hai, chairman of HNA Cargo; Zhang Youqiang, chairman and president of HKC; Tian Zhongyu, director of human resources, administration and information technology of HKC; and Zhang Jianjun, director of commercial department of HKC.
Youqiang said, “The opening of our GBA Office in Shenzhen is a strategic move for HKC’s growth and expansion. As a Hong Kong-based air cargo carrier, we are dedicated to serving the GBA market and enhancing Hong Kong’s connectivity with the mainland and the world.
“We are grateful for the support and collaboration of customers in the GBA, and we will continue to offer our customers with highly convenient and efficient air cargo solutions with the help of our local partners in Shenzhen.”
Dongguan Bay Area Express Group, HKC and Shenzhen AAA Logistics Group also signed a tripartite air charter service agreement in which all parties will actively play a part in the ‘Dongguan-Hong Kong International Aviation Hub’ and create the ‘Dongguan-Hong Kong-India’ international air transport aviation link.
Zhang Jianjun, director of commercial department at HKC, said: “The ‘Dongguan-Hong Kong International Aviation Hub’ effectively reduces transportation time and logistics costs.
“We will take this signing as an opportunity to continue to deepen our connection with Dongguan Port and provide better aviation services to serve the Greater Bay Area and local enterprises in Dongguan.”
