IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has promoted Josh Lane to director of London operations, underlining the strategic importance of London Heathrow as its global headquarters and busiest hub. The appointment signals a renewed focus on operational efficiency and customer service at the group’s most critical cargo location.
Lane steps into the role with significant experience in logistics and operational leadership. He previously served as head of warehouse at IAG Cargo, where he was instrumental in launching the New Premia facility at Heathrow in 2023. The purpose-built, high-performance terminal is tailored for time-sensitive shipments such as pharmaceuticals, and has become a flagship for IAG Cargo’s premium handling services.
In his new role, Lane will be responsible for overseeing all end-to-end cargo operations at Heathrow. His remit includes optimising processes, embedding new technologies – including AI-driven decision-making – and enhancing service quality across the board.
“Josh’s leadership and input has already had a major impact on our London operation,” said Adam Carson, chief operating officer at IAG Cargo. “This role allows us to further build on that momentum and ensure we have the structure, systems, and support in place to drive performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction at our Heathrow hub.”
Lane said his focus would be on delivering for customers and improving operational efficiency at a pivotal moment for the business. “With ongoing investment in both physical infrastructure and digital capability, we’re building a business our customers can trust to deliver every time,” he said.
