WFS to handle Turkish Airlines cargo at JFK and MIA

Turkish Airlines has awarded a three-year cargo and ground handling contract to Worldwide Flight Services (WFS).

Turkish Airlines has signed a three-year cargo and ground handling agreement with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) covering operations at Miami International Airport (MIA) and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Services commenced on 17 July 2025 at MIA and on 1 August at JFK. Under the deal, WFS will deliver cargo handling, mail processing and ramp handling services at MIA’s building 707, and cargo and ramp operations at JFK’s building 260.

The agreement supports Turkish Airlines’ sizeable cargo footprint in the US. At MIA, WFS will manage four weekly flights handling around 18,250 tonnes annually, while JFK’s three weekly flights will process approximately 36,000 tonnes each year. Both locations will service the carrier’s A330F, B747F and B777F freighter fleet.

Frank Clemente, senior vice president, cargo and express North America at WFS, said: “We are pleased to expand our partnership with Turkish Airlines across these two strategic US gateways. This contract reinforces our commitment to delivering the reliable, high-quality ground handling services that support Turkish Airlines’ growing cargo network in North America.”

The new contracts build on WFS’ existing partnership with Turkish Airlines, with the handler already providing services at Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Seattle, Houston and Washington Dulles. Turkish Airlines cited WFS’ global reach, proven service quality, competitive pricing and industry relationships as key factors in the award.

WFS, part of the SATS Group, is one of the world’s largest ground handling and cargo service providers, operating across major global markets with a focus on safety, efficiency and customer service.
