Construction of an innovative cargo terminal in the southern area of Tallinn Airport is set to begin in the spring of 2024 following the signing of contracts.
AS Airport City and Maru Ehitus AS have agreed on the design and construction details of the new 5,250 sqm terminal that will help meet the growing cargo volumes at the airport.
The new cargo terminal forms an important part of the Airport City project, Tallinn Airport’s resident business park, offering a variety of commercial spaces and new developments for aviation-related businesses that value proximity to an airport or runway.
With planned completion for the new €8 million cargo terminal expected by summer 2025, the facility which include 1,450 sqm of office space and 3,800 sqm of warehouses, plus loading platforms for 57 vehicles.
Teet Raudsep, the chairman of the management board of Airport City, said: “This is an important milestone in the wider development plan of the Airport City business campus, as it is the first project that we will build from the versatile and long-term development plan of the business campus.
“The uniqueness of our business campus is supported by the unique location in the immediate vicinity of the runway of Tallinn Airport, and the construction of a new cargo terminal strengthens our position in the international market.”
