Delta Air Lines and LUG aircargo handling GmbH (LUG) have extended their Frankfurt and Munich cargo handling contract until 2027.

The agreed extension means that LUG remains the preferred handling partner, reinforcing the collaboration between the two firms.

The Atlanta-based airline has been utilising LUG’s services in Frankfurt for over four years and in Munich for a decade.

Delta Air Lines connects Frankfurt Airport (FRA) with daily flights to Atlanta (ATL), Detroit (DTW), and New York (JFK), utilising A330s that boast a cargo capacity of up to 29 tonnes per flight.

Delta entrusts all freight operations in Frankfurt to LUG, including the transport of temperature-controlled pharmaceutical shipments.

With direct ramp access, storage facilities, staging areas, and specialised centres for medical shipments and valuable cargo, LUG ensures the efficiency and precision that is essential for Delta Cargo’s reliable operations.

In Munich, Delta Air Lines offers daily connections to Atlanta and, beginning in March 2024, to New York (JFK) and Detroit, utiliing Boeing 767s equipped with cargo capacity of up to 20 tonnes.

Over the last decade, Delta Cargo has utilised LUG’s handling services for the diverse array of goods that travel through Munich.
