The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has appointed ESG Consultancy as the independent validator for its BlueSky Program assessments.

ESG Consultancy is a leading firm specialising in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria and the agreement with TIACA will ensure the current methodology and protocols for the BlueSky Program developed by TIACA and Change Horizon are maintained for current and future participants.

Steven Polmans, chair of TIACA, said: “We are excited to work with ESG Consultancy as the newest independent validator for BlueSky. They have shown alignment with key principles that were part of the development of the BlueSky Program.

“Their expertise and knowledge of ESG standards will only add value to the BlueSky Program.”

Francine Carron, chief executive at the ESG Consultancy NV, said: “We are thrilled and honoured to be appointed as the independent validator for the BlueSky assessments.

“Our expertise in ESG will ensure that sustainability in the air cargo industry is not just a goal but a reality.”

The BlueSky Program is a sustainability assessment, validation, and verification programme, designed to track a company’s sustainability progress, benchmark against peers and accelerate the air cargo industry’s transformation to a sustainable future.

Not only does the BlueSky Program offer companies the opportunity to assess where they are on their sustainability journey, but it also allows them to commit to improving programmes across eight key objectives set out within TIACA’s Air Cargo Sustainability Roadmap.

By having a BlueSky Program independent assessment, companies can identify areas that may need improvement. The assessment results are completely confidential and will only be shared by the participant.

Glyn Hughes, director general of TIACA, said: “ESG Consultancy has shown a commitment to ensure that the BlueSky assessments are conducted with the same high standards as previous assessments. We look forward to working with them as we continue to develop the programme.

On a separate note, we would like to thank Celine Hourcade, Change Horizon for her work in developing the BlueSky Program and wish her all the best in her future endeavors as the vice president, global head of ESG/Sustainability SATS Ltd.”
